I feel like I've come across similar scenarios in my study materials. If the futures are accurately priced, then executing an arbitrage strategy wouldn't yield the expected riskless profit. I'm leaning towards that conclusion.
Spend analysis is the clear winner in my mind. If we can get a handle on our total spend, we'll be in a much better position to negotiate with suppliers and drive consolidation. Seems like the most straightforward path forward.
