PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam - Topic 3 Question 86 Discussion

Actual exam question for PRINCE2's PRINCE2 Practitioner exam
Question #: 86
Topic #: 3
[All PRINCE2 Practitioner Questions]

It is now late October and the project is in stage 3. The label design competition has been held and the photos of the staff have been taken. The CEO and Marketing Director still need to choose the winning label design and the 12 photos for the calendar. However, the Executive has learned that two competitors are issuing calendars to MNO's customers by the middle of November. After analyzing the impact of this Issue, one of the options the Project Manager has presented to the Project Board is to close the project prematurely.

There are a number of key facts relating to this project that would need to be recorded if the project Y-e to be closed now.

Which product should show that if anybody has any remaining resource costs to be charged to the project, they should ensure this is done by 10 November?

Wait, closing it now? Seems rushed to me.

The End Project Report should cover remaining costs.

I’m pretty certain that the End Project Report is where all final costs should be documented, but I might be mixing it up with the Benefits Review Plan.

I’m leaning towards the Follow-on action recommendations because it seems like it would include any final tasks, but I can't recall if it specifically addresses the deadline for charging costs.

I remember a practice question about project closure, and I feel like the Project closure notification could be relevant here, but I’m not confident it covers the resource costs aspect.

I think the End Project Report might be the right choice since it usually summarizes everything, but I'm not entirely sure if it specifically mentions resource costs.

Okay, I think I've got this. The key things are that the project is in stage 3, the label design and staff photos are done, but the competitors are about to release their calendars early. So the Project Manager wants to close the project prematurely. In that case, the End Project Report is likely the document that would need to show any remaining resource costs before the project is closed on 10 November.

Hmm, this is a tricky one. There are a lot of details to keep track of. I'm a bit confused about the timeline - it's late October, the competitors are issuing calendars in mid-November, but the project is already in stage 3? And the Project Manager wants to close the project early? I'm not totally sure, but I think the End Project Report is probably the right answer since that would be the place to document any final costs.

Okay, let me see if I've got this right. The project is in stage 3, the label design and staff photos are done, but the competitors are about to release their calendars. The Project Manager wants to close the project early. I'm pretty sure the answer is the End Project Report, since that's where any remaining costs would need to be recorded before the project is closed.

This question seems straightforward, but I want to make sure I understand the key details before answering. The project is in stage 3, the label design competition has been held, and the CEO and Marketing Director need to choose the winning design and photos. But the competitors are issuing calendars soon, so the Project Manager has suggested closing the project early. I think the answer is probably the End Project Report, since that would be the document to record any remaining resource costs.

Follow-on action recommendations? Pfft, like anyone's going to care about that when the project's shutting down early. Just give me the End Project Report and let's move on.

I think we should still consider the Follow-on action recommendations, they could be useful for future projects.

Benefits Review Plan? Are you kidding me? That's for when the project is a success, not a premature closure! End Project Report all the way.

Let's make sure to complete the End Project Report by 10 November to capture all remaining resource costs before closing the project.

End Project Report, for sure. It's like the project's obituary - got to make sure it's detailed and accurate. No 'fake news' allowed here!

End Project Report? Definitely, that's where the key facts about the project closure would be recorded. Can't leave anything to chance, you know.

I disagree. I think we should consider option C) Follow-on action recommendations to address the impact of competitors issuing calendars early. It could help us come up with a plan to mitigate the situation.
