Actual exam question for Microsoft's AZ-104 exam
Question #: 110
Topic #: 3
[All AZ-104 Questions]

You deploy Azure virtual machines to three Azure regions.

Each region contains a virtual network. Each virtual network contains multiple subnets peered in a full mesh topology.

Each subnet contains a network security group (NSG) that has defined rules.

A user reports that he cannot use port 33000 to connect from a virtual machine in one region to a virtual machine in another region.

Which two options can you use to diagnose the issue? Each correct answer presents a complete solution.

NOTE: Each correct selection is worth one point.

I'm surprised the user is even trying to use port 33000. That's a pretty obscure port, maybe they're a secret hacker trying to break into the system. Option E all the way!

User 3: Option E could definitely help in checking the security rules for that port.

Haha, I bet the user is trying to connect to a virtual machine using the port 33000 to play some secret online game. Option D, connection troubleshoot, is probably the best way to get to the bottom of this mystery!

B) IP flow verify seems like a good option to me. It can help us identify if the traffic is being blocked or not, which could be the root cause of the issue.

I think the issue could be with the network security group (NSG) rules. Option E, where we need to check the effective security rules, sounds like the right way to diagnose this problem.

Once we check the effective security rules and use IP flow verify, we can troubleshoot the connection further if needed.
