A cloud administrator is looking to migrate several dozen workloads from their on-premises location to a VMware public cloud using the vMotlon feature of VMware HCX. A total of three networks will need to be stretched for the migration. They will also be utilizing the capabilities of the WAN appliance to optimize migration traffic.

Based on this scenario, how many IP addresses would need to be reserved for the on-premises deployment of VMware HCX?

I'd reserve at least 42 IP addresses, just to be safe. You know, in case the HCX appliance decides it wants to host its own universe or something.

I'm going with A) four. Why make this complicated? The question clearly states three networks, and the HCX management interface. That's four. Anything else is just overthinking it.

Definitely C) three. Come on, guys, it's basic math. Three networks, and the HCX management interface. That's it. Anything more is just overkill.

I agree, C) three is the correct answer. It's simple math.

Hmm, I'm going with D) six. The question says 'several dozen workloads', so I'm assuming that means a lot of networks. Plus, the WAN appliance probably needs a few extra IPs for redundancy or something.

I'm pretty sure the answer is B) five. The question mentions three networks that need to be stretched, and the HCX WAN appliance also requires an IP address. That's a total of four addresses, plus one more for the HCX management interface.

I'm not sure, but I think the answer is C) three. Can someone explain why we would need more than three IP addresses?

I agree with you, it should be A) four. Each stretched network and the HCX WAN appliance need their own IP address.

I think the answer is A) four. We need one IP address for each stretched network and one for the HCX WAN appliance.

I agree with Diane. The scenario mentions three networks being stretched, so three IP addresses should be enough.
