During a team meeting, members who are subject matter experts (SMEs) mention that they are continuously working on repetitive tasks, which has lowered motivation. What should the agile practitioner do?
I bet the team's SMEs are just thrilled to be 'continuously working on repetitive tasks'. Sounds like a recipe for burnout and low morale. They need to shake things up, not just add more warm bodies.
I can just imagine the team-building activity, A, being a trust fall exercise or something equally cringeworthy. Not the best way to solve this issue, in my opinion.
Add more resources? Seriously, D? That's just throwing more bodies at the problem without addressing the root cause. The team needs to take a step back and rethink their workflow.
I like the idea of having them work in pairs, B seems like a good option. Learning from each other and developing new skills will keep them engaged and motivated.
Hmm, seems like the team is stuck in a rut. I think C is the way to go - a value stream analysis could really help them identify the bottlenecks and find ways to streamline their processes.
