I'm going with A and B. Adapters are all about making different systems play nice together. C and D sound more like they're describing robots or some kind of weird JavaScript integration. Nice try, but I'm not falling for that!
Ah, the age-old question of 'What do adapters do?' A and B sound spot on to me. The other options are a bit out there, like someone tried to sneak in a few red herrings.
This is a tricky one, but I think A and B capture the essence of what adapters do – bridging the gap between applications. C and D feel like they're describing something else entirely.
