Haha, this question is trying to trick us! Of course the alternate port is on a different switch. Why would it be on the same one? That just doesn't make sense.
Well, I don't know about that. Isn't the alternate port supposed to be a backup in case the designated port fails? I guess it could be on the same switch, but I'm not totally sure.
