When can you use an Azure Resource Manager template?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A

You can automate deployments and use the practice of infrastructure as code. In code, you define the infrastructure that needs to be deployed

To implement infrastructure as code for your Azure solutions, use Azure Resource Manager templates (ARM templates). The template is a JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) file that defines the infrastructure and configuration for your project. The template uses declarative syntax, which lets you state what you intend to deploy without having to write the sequence of programming commands to create it. In the template, you specify the resources to deploy and the properties for those resources.

Option C seems off, ARM templates don't provision subscriptions directly.

I vaguely recall something about permissions and policies, but I don't think that's what ARM templates are primarily used for. I’d lean towards A as well.

I practiced a question similar to this, and I believe ARM templates are definitely for managing groups of resources, so A seems to fit best.

I’m a bit unsure, but I think option B might be about deploying from the portal, which doesn’t seem like the main purpose of ARM templates.

Azure Resource Manager templates can do a lot more than just create resources. Option C about provisioning subscriptions and applying policies is interesting.
