I’m surprised that losing all worker nodes (B) doesn’t affect quorum directly!

Yeah, C is the only one that makes sense for quorum loss.

Wait, losing just one master node (D) isn't enough to lose quorum?

I think B could also be a problem, but not as critical as C.

C is definitely the right answer. Majority rules!

I feel like the answer might be C, but I also remember something about how worker nodes can impact the overall cluster health.

If I recall correctly, losing the majority of master nodes would definitely lead to quorum loss, but I’m unsure if just one master going offline is enough.

I remember practicing a question about node failures, and I think losing all worker nodes wouldn't affect the quorum directly.

I think the quorum loss is related to the master nodes, but I'm not sure if it's just one or if it has to be the majority.

I'm a little confused by the wording of the question. Does "loss of an etcd quorum" mean the cluster becomes unavailable, or is there some other implication? I want to make sure I understand the impact before answering.

Okay, let me think this through. If the majority of the master/control plane hosts are lost, that would definitely lead to a loss of etcd quorum, since etcd runs on those nodes. I'm pretty confident that's the right answer.

This question seems straightforward. I think the key is to focus on the etcd quorum and what would cause it to be lost.

Hmm, I'm a bit unsure about this one. I know etcd is the distributed key-value store used by OpenShift, but I'm not totally clear on the quorum requirements.

Okay, let's see. The first one about the default logon account seems straightforward. But the other options are a bit more technical - I'll need to make sure I understand WMI and firewall configurations.

I can't recall if 'docker attach' works in this case. It seems like 'exec' is what we need, though.

I'm going to have to go with C) The majority of master/control plane hosts are lost. It's the only one that makes sense in terms of an etcd quorum issue. Though I have to say, 'the database used by all Cloud Pak for Integration components is corrupted'? What kind of bizarre scenario is that?

No, that wouldn't affect the etcd quorum in the same way as losing the majority of master/control plane hosts.

I agree, that seems like the most logical reason for an etcd quorum loss.

This is easy, C) The majority of master/control plane hosts are lost. Losing the majority of your etcd members means you lose quorum. I'm not even going to bother with the other options, they're just distractions.

Hah, I bet the person who wrote this question is a real comedian. A) The database used by all Cloud Pak for Integration components is corrupted? What does that have to do with etcd quorum? Clearly the right answer is C.

I'm going with D) One of the master nodes has gone offline. That should be enough to lose quorum, right? Not sure why they'd ask about worker nodes or database corruption.

C) The majority of master/control plane hosts are lost seems like the correct answer. If you lose the majority of the etcd cluster, you lose quorum and the cluster goes down.

I agree with Marge. Without the majority of master/control plane hosts, the cluster would lose quorum.
