Actual exam question for HP's HPE2-T37 exam
Question #: 41
Topic #: 2
[All HPE2-T37 Questions]

Your customer runs VMware ESXi on an HPE Synergy platform. The ESXi systems must have access to 50 VLANs initially. However, this is a dynamic environment, and more VLANs will be added in the future.

They want to add more networks for virtual machines, but they do not want to modify the HPE Virtual Connect configuration.

Which type of the network should the customer define?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: D

Virtual Connect will pass through all tagged packets without modification, and it will be the responsibility of the teaming software to strip/add tags.

Untagged networks won't work for this many VLANs.

They should go with Tagged networks for VLANs.

I vaguely recall that internal networks are used for communication between VMs only, so that doesn't seem right for this scenario.

If they want to avoid modifying the HPE Virtual Connect, I feel like tagged networks might be the way to go since they can handle multiple VLANs.

I think we practiced a similar question where untagged networks were mentioned, but I'm not completely confident if that's applicable in this case.

I remember something about VLANs needing to be tagged for virtual machines, but I'm not sure if that's the right choice here.

I think I'd start with the Storefront Toolkit to see if there are any issues with the account address display logic.

I think the tester might contribute the most during the integration test phase, but I'm not completely sure.

Transient Workflows could definitely alleviate some of the pressure, but I'm not positive about how much they would impact overall performance. I need to double-check our previous notes on that.
