Question #: 51
Topic #: 2
[All Professional Cloud Network Engineer Questions]

After a network change window one of your company's applications stops working. The application uses an on-premises database server that no longer receives any traffic from the application. The database server IP address is 10.2.1.25. You examine the change request, and the only change is that 3 additional VPC subnets were created. The new VPC subnets created are 10.1.0.0/16, 10.2.0.0/16, and 10.3.1.0/24/ The on-premises router is advertising 10.0.0.0/8.

What is the most likely cause of this problem?

Not sure about that, seems too coincidental with the subnet changes.

Wait, could a firewall rule have been added without us knowing?

I think the on-premises router might not be advertising the right route.

The less specific VPC subnet route is taking priority.

I think I read that less specific routes take priority, but I’m not completely confident about how that interacts with the new subnets.

I feel like a firewall rule could definitely block traffic, but I don't recall if we covered that in relation to subnet changes.

This seems similar to a practice question we did about VPC routing. I think the on-premises router not advertising the right route could be the problem.

I remember something about route priority, but I'm not sure if it's the less specific or more specific route that's causing the issue.

The manifest.mbdb file sounds like it might contain information about the backup, so I'll give that a closer look.

This question seems straightforward, I think the system of record fabric for IT management includes the data objects, their relationships, and inter-dependencies.

I think the key here is understanding what a "line group" is and how distribution algorithms work within that context. I'll need to review my notes on that.
