You have been assigned a project to develop a Web site for a construction company. You plan to develop a Web site and want to get more control over the appearance and presentation of the Web pages. You also want to increase your ability to precisely specify the position and appearance of the elements on a page and create special effects. You plan to use cascading style sheets (CSS). You want to define styles only for the active page. Which type of style sheet will you use?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A

To define styles only for the active page you should use embedded style sheet.

Cascading style sheets (CSS) are used so that the Web site authors can exercise greater control on the appearance and presentation of their

Web pages. And also because they increase the ability to precisely point to the location and look of elements on a Web page and help in

creating special effects. Cascading Style Sheets have codes, which are interpreted and applied by the browser on to the Web pages and their

elements. There are three types of cascading style sheets.

External Style Sheets

Embedded Style Sheets

Inline Style Sheets

External Style Sheets are used whenever consistency in style is required throughout a Web site. A typical external style sheet uses a .css file

extension, which can be edited using a text editor such as a Notepad.

Embedded Style Sheets are used for defining styles for an active page.

Inline Style Sheets are used for defining individual elements of a page.

You want to enable Host A to access the Internet. For this, you need to configure the default gateway settings. Choose the appropriate

address to accomplish the task.

C) Internal Style Sheet sounds right for this situation.

B) Inline Style Sheet. Ah, the good old days of writing styles directly in the HTML. Brings back memories!

D) External Style Sheet. Duh, that's the obvious choice. Who even considers inline styles these days?

A) Embedded Style Sheet. Hmm, not sure about that. Seems a bit outdated for a modern web project.

C) Internal Style Sheet. Seems like the best option to define styles only for the active page.

D) External Style Sheet. That's the way to go for this project. Keeps the CSS separate and easy to manage.

I feel like external style sheets are for multiple pages, so that can't be it. I think it has to be either embedded or internal.

I'm a bit confused because I thought inline styles were for individual elements, but maybe they could work too?

I think I'll use an internal style sheet. That seems like the simplest option since I only need the styles for this one page. But an external sheet could be better if I want to reuse the styles later.

I'm leaning towards an embedded style sheet. That way the styles are right there in the HTML, so it's easy to see what's going on. But an external sheet could work too if I need to reuse the styles.

External style sheet for sure. That gives me the most flexibility to control the appearance and layout of the page elements. Plus, it's easier to maintain the styles in a separate file.

I think I remember that an embedded style sheet is used for a specific page, but I'm not entirely sure if that's the right term.

I practiced a similar question, and I believe the answer is an internal style sheet since it applies to the active page only.

External Style Sheet is better for multiple pages, but not for just one.

Hmm, I'm not sure. I was thinking an internal style sheet might be better since I only need the styles for this one page. But an external sheet could work too if I want to reuse the styles across multiple pages.

I think I'll go with an external style sheet. That way I can define the styles in a separate file and just link to it from the HTML, which will keep the code cleaner.
