A company is running its SAP applications on Oracle Database Oracle Database is hosted on physical servers that are running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Because of compliance requirements the company cannot install any additional software on its on premises database servers. The company needs to migrate the SAP landscape to AWS and must continue to use Oracle Database.

Which migration solution should the company use to meet these requirements?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: D

This option would allow the company to continue using Oracle Database while also meeting their compliance requirements, as they would not need to install any additional software on their on-premises servers. They can use Oracle Data Guard to replicate their existing Oracle Database to an instance running on AWS, providing a way to migrate their SAP landscape to AWS while still using the same database.

Haha, yeah, talk about a rock and a hard place, am I right? But I agree, those two options seem like the most viable given the constraints. I'm leaning more towards the Oracle Data Guard replication, since it's a native Oracle feature and might be a bit more straightforward to implement.

Yeah, that's a good point. Those solutions usually require installing additional software on the source servers, which is not an option here. I think the SAP SUM DMO with System Move or the Oracle Data Guard replication might be the way to go.

I agree. The fact that they can't install any additional software on the on-premises database servers really narrows down the options. AWS SMS and CloudEndure Migration wouldn't work in this case.

Hmm, this is an interesting question. As an SAP professional, I'm familiar with the migration options, but the compliance requirements here add an extra layer of complexity.
