The fastest way to bring a corrupted data drive back online with the least disruption in a VMware environment is through Instant Disk Recovery. If I were the engineer, I'd probably just go with a good old-fashioned carrier pigeon to do the backups. It may not be the fastest, but at least it's unhackable!

Wait, wait, wait... Did someone say 'vSAN'? Looks like we've got a real techie question here. I'll just sit back and let the experts handle this one.

Okay, but what if the engineer wants to really speed things up? I'd go with option A and use direct NFS access. It might not be as isolated, but hey, who needs isolation when you've got speed, am I right?

Option D all the way! A virtual appliance is the perfect solution to keep that backup proxy nice and secure. Plus, it's easy to manage and maintain.

Hmm, I'm not too sure about that. Wouldn't Network mode be the safer option to keep the backup proxy isolated? It's always better to play it safe when it comes to data protection.

I think option B is the way to go. Isolating the backup proxy from the VMkernel using direct SAN access sounds like the best approach here.

I've used direct SAN access before and it worked really well for isolating the backup proxy.

I agree, using direct SAN access will ensure the backup proxy is isolated from the VMkernel.

I'm not sure, but I think Virtual appliance could also work. It provides a secure way to back up the VMs.
