Actual exam question for The Open Group's OG0-092 exam
Question #: 31
Topic #: 2
[All OG0-092 Questions]

Scenario:

Please read this scenario prior to answering the question

You are serving as the Chief Architect for a large, global commodities trading company which has been growing rapidly through a series of acquisitions. Each business is performing well in its markets. However, the lack of integration between headquarters and the business units has increasingly caused problems in the handling of customer and financial information. The inability to share information across businesses has resulted in lost opportunities to "leverage the synergies" that had been intended when the businesses were acquired. At present, each business unit maintains its own applications. Despite an earlier initiative to install a common application to manage customer, products, supplier, and inventory information, each business unit has different ways of defining each of these core elements and has customized the common application to the point where the ability to exchange information is difficult, costly, and error-prone. As a result, the company has made the decision to introduce a single enterprise-wide application to consolidate information from several applications that exist across the lines of business. The application will be used by all business units and accessed by suppliers through well defined interfaces.

Refer to the Scenario

Not sure any of these will fix the integration issues we have.

Wait, why not just go with A? Seems like a straightforward approach.

I think D is better, involving the Architecture Board adds more credibility.

I’m a bit confused about the best approach. Option C mentions publishing principles on the intranet, but I wonder if that’s enough to ensure compliance across all business units.

I'm not entirely sure, but I feel like the principles should be based on best practices. Option A sounds reasonable, but it might lack the necessary alignment with the company's mission.

I remember we discussed the importance of aligning IT with business strategies in our last class. I think option B might be the right choice since it emphasizes that alignment.

I practiced a similar question where stakeholder involvement was key. I think option D is strong because it includes the Architecture Board and ensures support from senior management.

This seems straightforward. If the question says you would choose one or the other, but not both, then the answer must be False. You typically want to use both an ESB and an orchestration product together for a robust service architecture.

Hmm, this is a tricky one. The project has already invested a significant amount, so I'll need to weigh the impact of the new law against the sunk costs. I'll have to think this through step-by-step.
