Your help desk/Service Desk wishes to become a model for best practice, what is one of the main sources of excellent information and advice to help achieve this?
I've seen this type of question before. I think the main drawback is that the cleansing methods won't be applied evenly across the data, so we can't fairly assess their effectiveness.
