I'm leaning towards Overwrite as well. Appending or adding updates could leave old, inactive customers in the data extension.

Overwrite seems like the best option to ensure the data extension only contains currently active customers. It'll replace the entire dataset instead of appending or adding updates.

I'm not sure, but I think Overwrite might also work to ensure only active customers are in the data extension.
