I think Option B is the way to go. Configuring the filter DE to auto-refresh daily in the properties will keep the data up-to-date without any extra steps.

Hmm, I'm not sure about the 'AUTOMATICALLY REFRESH UPON SENDING' checkbox. Doesn't that just refresh the data when the email is sent, not daily?
