Actual exam question for Salesforce's CRT-251 exam
Question #: 76
Topic #: 20
[All CRT-251 Questions]

The Northern Trail Outfitters sales team has reported that many of the leads they receive are missing an email address or phone number.

Which approach should a consultant recommend to address this issue?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A

The most likely cause of the records failing is that updates to child records that have the same parent record are being processed simultaneously. This can cause the records to fail because child records must be imported after the parent records have been imported, and if the parent record is being updated at the same time as the child records, the import will fail. The other options are not likely to be the cause of the failed import.

If all else fails, we could just send the sales team carrier pigeons with the lead details. No missing information that way!

Hmm, I wonder if we could just have a big, flashing neon sign that says 'FILL IN THE EMAIL AND PHONE, PLEASE!' That might do the trick.

Creating a validation rule could work, but that might be overkill. The convert form option seems simpler and more user-friendly.

I'm not sure setting default values for those fields is the best idea. What if the lead doesn't have that information? Requiring it on the form is probably the way to go.

Making the Phone and Email fields required on the Lead convert form seems like the most straightforward approach. That way, users won't be able to skip those important details.

I think a combination of setting default values and making them required on the convert form would be the most effective approach.

I agree. Creating a validation rule would also be a good way to enforce the requirement for Phone and Email.

That's a good point. Setting default values could also help ensure that those fields are not left blank.
