I'm not sure, Option B with the formula field could get tricky. What if the Discount_Level__c field changes? Might be better to just reference it directly.

Hmm, that's a good point. Option B does seem to have more detailed instructions for setting up the Distributor Discount.

Option A looks like the way to go. Applying the Distributor Discount directly on the Quote Line Item seems more straightforward.
