Salesforce Exam ARC-101 Topic 10 Question 20 Discussion

Actual exam question for Salesforce's ARC-101 exam
Question #: 20
Topic #: 10
[All ARC-101 Questions]

business requires automating the check and update of the phone number type

classification (mobile vs. landline) for all in-coming calls delivered to their phone

sales agents. The following conditions exist:

1. At peak, their call center can receive up to 100,000 calls per day.

2. The phone number type classification is a service provided by an external service API.

3. Business is flexible with timing and frequency to check and update the records (throughout

the night or every 6-12 hours is sufficient).

A Remote-Call-In pattern and/or Batch Synchronization (Replication via ETL: System ->

Salesforce) are determined to work with a middleware hosted on custom premise.

In order to implement these patterns and mechanisms, which component should an integration architect recommend?

A? Really? A ConnectedApp? That's for OAuth, not for this kind of integration. Definitely not the right choice here.

D is an interesting option, but I'm not sure if a firewall and reverse proxy are necessary for this specific use case. Seems like overkill when you can use an API Gateway instead.

But wouldn't ConnectedApp in Salesforce also work for authentication?

B sounds good too. Setting up Remote Site Settings in Salesforce can help establish a secure connection to the middleware. But I'm not sure if that's enough for handling the volume of calls.

I agree with Louvenia, an API Gateway provides a secure way to connect Salesforce with the Middleware.

I think an API Gateway is the best option to authenticate requests.

Hmm, I think C is the way to go. An API Gateway can handle the authentication and routing between Salesforce and the middleware. It's a common pattern for managing external integrations.

I'm not sure, but I think Firewall and reverse proxy are also important to protect internal APIs and resources from external threats.
