I feel like I read that products are usually considered expired after the last day listed, so it might be August 31.

Option A seems like the simplest approach, just configuring Active Directory as the authentication provider in Amazon ES. But I'm not sure if that would fully support the federated authentication with AD FS that the question mentions.
