PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam - Topic 4 Question 50 Discussion

Actual exam question for PRINCE2's PRINCE2 Practitioner exam
Question #: 50
Topic #: 4
[All PRINCE2 Practitioner Questions]

It is now late October and the project is in stage 3. The label design competition has been held and the photos of the staff have been taken. The CEO and Marketing Director still need to choose the winning label design and the 12 photos for the calendar. However, the Executive has learned that two competitors are issuing calendars to MNO's customers by the middle of November. After analyzing the impact of this Issue, one of the options the Project Manager has presented to the Project Board is to close the project prematurely.

There are a number of key facts relating to this project that would need to be recorded if the project Y-e to be closed now.

Which product should register that the risk of a competitor producing a calendar at the same time was identified at the beginning of the project but the assessment of this risk appears to have been poor?

I’m not sure, but it feels like this should be in the Follow-on action recommendations.

I think it’s a no-brainer to put it in the Lessons Report for future reference.

Wait, they didn’t assess the risk properly? That’s surprising!

I disagree, it should go in the Issue Register since it’s an ongoing problem now.

Definitely the Risk Register. That’s where risks should be tracked.

From what I studied, the Risk Register is definitely the right choice here. It captures risks identified during the project, especially since this one was known from the start.

I'm a bit confused about whether it should be the Issue Register or the Risk Register. I feel like both could apply since the risk assessment was poor.

I remember a practice question where we had to decide between the Issue Register and the Risk Register. I think this one leans more towards the Risk Register because it was a known risk.

I think the risk of the competitor's calendar should go in the Risk Register since it was identified early on, but I'm not entirely sure if it should also be noted elsewhere.

This is a tricky one, but I'm pretty confident the answer is D. The Risk Register seems like the logical place to record the risk that was identified but poorly assessed.

Okay, I think I've got it. The risk of the competitor's calendar was identified at the beginning, but the assessment of that risk was poor. So the Risk Register would be the appropriate place to record that.

Hmm, the question is asking about which product should record the risk of the competitor's calendar, but it's not entirely clear to me. I'll need to think this through step-by-step.

This seems like a tricky one. I'll need to carefully read through the details to understand the key facts and identify the appropriate product to register the risk.

I'm leaning towards D. Being able to directly disable detections for a host in the management interface seems like the most intuitive approach.

Hmm, I'm not sure. The question mentions a "large dataset of historical data labeled as fraudulent", so maybe K-means could work for clustering the fraudulent transactions? I'll have to think about this one.

This is a good one. I'm pretty confident I know the PRINCE2 principles well, so I'll carefully consider each option and try to identify the one that doesn't match up with continued business justification.

Hmm, I'm a bit unsure about this one. The options seem similar, and I'll need to really focus on the specific wording to determine the correct answer.

Ah, I remember learning about this in class. Fatal questions are a specific type of critical question, and if you score 'No' on them, the entire evaluation is a zero. I'm pretty confident B is the right answer here.

A competitor calendar? Sounds like the perfect opportunity for a crossover promotion - 'Buy our calendar, get the competitor's one half off!' Brilliant strategy, if I do say so myself.

The Risk Register, for sure. Though I'm sure the project manager is kicking themselves right about now, wishing they had a time machine to go back and fix this mess. Maybe they can use it to go back and buy some winning lottery tickets too.

Hmm, the Lessons Report seems like a good option too. This experience could provide valuable insights to help future projects avoid similar pitfalls. Although, I guess the Risk Register is the more direct way to document this particular issue.

I agree, the Risk Register is the correct answer. This is a classic example of a risk that should have been identified and mitigated early on in the project. The project team really dropped the ball on this one.

The Risk Register is the obvious choice here. The project should have identified and assessed the risk of a competitor releasing a calendar, and that information should be documented in the Risk Register for future reference.
