Which is the purpose of the 'monitoring and event management' practice?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: C

The second step is to conduct an objective current-state assessment of existing services and service management practices. This should include consideration of the users' perception of the value being received, along with a review of people's competencies and skills, the processes and procedures involved, the capabilities of the available technological solutions and the prevailing organizational culture. The success of an improvement initiative depends on a clear and accurate understanding of the starting point and the required impact of the initiative.

For example, an organization can measure the current net promoter score (NPS) from a customer satisfaction survey, conduct a benchmark survey against its competitors or review findings of operational statistics or audit reports to understand its current state. If this step is skipped, the current state will not be understood and there will not be an objective baseline measurement against which improvement can be measured.

I thought monitoring was more about recording changes, so I lean towards B, but I also see how A could fit. It's confusing!

I feel like option D is more about incident management rather than monitoring, but I could be wrong.

I think the purpose of monitoring and event management is related to observing services, so maybe it's option B? But I'm not entirely sure.

This seems straightforward - I'd go with option C to create a service account with the Cloud Functions Invoker role and use that to invoke the function.

Increased awareness sounds beneficial, but I'm struggling to connect it with "service statelessness." That doesn't seem quite right.

I'm sort of unsure, but I think a virtual team formed by individuals from different companies is called an inter-organisation team? That makes sense, right?

Wait, so they want me to monitor the services and then... report the changes? Sounds like a lot of work for someone who just wants to play Tetris all day. Where's the option for 'sleep through the alarms and hope no one notices'?

I'm leaning towards option B as well. It just seems to best capture the essence of what monitoring and event management is all about.

Ha! Option D is obviously the wrong answer. Restoring normal service is more of an incident management thing, not monitoring and event management. Gotta get that one right!

Hmm, I'm not sure about this one. It seems like option A could also be a valid purpose of monitoring and event management, but I'll go with B just to be safe.
