Choose the correct answer.

A system engineer has created a SysML block structure for his system-of-interest. Two of the blocks (M and E) represent system-level abstractions of components that will be designed by a mechanical engineer and an electrical engineer m their respective computer-aided design (CAD) tools.

Given that the CAD models are wrapped as blocks B_mcad and B_ecad, what type of diagram should the system engineer use to quantitatively relate the properties of B_mcad and B_ecad to their system level abstractions M and E respectively?

I think an internal block diagram could work too.

Definitely a parametric diagram for this!

I’m leaning towards the parametric diagram too, especially since it’s about relating properties quantitatively.

I feel like a block definition diagram could be relevant, but it usually defines types rather than properties, right?

I remember practicing with internal block diagrams, but they seem more focused on structure rather than quantitative relationships.

I think we might need a parametric diagram since it deals with properties and relationships, but I'm not entirely sure.

I'm a bit confused on the difference between an internal block diagram and a block definition diagram. Can those both be used to relate the CAD models to the system-level blocks, or is the parametric diagram the only option?

Okay, I'm feeling pretty confident about this one. The question is asking for a diagram type that can quantitatively relate the properties, so I'm going to go with option B, the parametric diagram.

Hmm, I think the key here is that we need to quantitatively relate the properties of the CAD models to the system-level blocks. That sounds like a job for a parametric diagram.

This seems like a tricky one. I'm not entirely sure which diagram type would be best for relating the CAD models to the system-level abstractions.

I think D) a block definition diagram could also work to relate the properties of the CAD models to their system level abstractions.

I'm not sure, but I think C) an internal block diagram could also be a possibility.

Parametric diagram, no doubt. Unless the system engineer is a complete newbie, in which case they might try to use an activity diagram. But that would be just plain wrong.

I agree with Ettie, a parametric diagram makes sense to relate properties quantitatively.

I was thinking internal block diagram, but parametric diagram makes more sense. It's all about those mathematical relationships, right?

Parametric diagram seems like the obvious choice here. It's all about quantifying the relationships between the CAD models and their system-level abstractions.

I see your point, a parametric diagram would definitely help in clearly defining and quantifying the relationships between the CAD models and their system-level abstractions.

I think a block definition diagram might also work in this case, but a parametric diagram would be more suitable for quantifying the relationships.
