Nokia 4A0-108 Exam - Topic 1 Question 128 Discussion

The Draft-Rosen S-PMSI address range is configured for 32 group addresses. What happens if there are more than 32 customer multicast flows that exceed the threshold configured for the MVPN?
D) The source PE re-uses an S-PMSI that is currently in use for the 33rd flow. Traffic for both flows is sent on the same S-PMSI.
A) Traffic for the 33rd multicast flow is dropped.
B) Traffic for the 33rd multicast flow is transmitted on the I-PMSI.
C) The source PE reassigns the S-PMSI with the smallest flow to the new multicast flow. Traffic for the smaller flow is transmitted on the I-PMSI.

D seems plausible too. Re-using an S-PMSI could save resources.

I lean towards C. It makes sense to reassign the smallest flow.

I think A is correct. More than 32 flows, one gets dropped.

C seems plausible, but I doubt it would reassign like that.

B is incorrect, it doesn't go on the I-PMSI.

Wait, really? I thought it would just reroute or something.

I feel like there's a possibility that the 33rd flow could just use an existing S-PMSI, but I need to double-check how that works with multiple flows.

If I remember correctly, the source PE might reassign the S-PMSI for the smallest flow to accommodate the new one, but I'm not 100% certain.

I think I practiced a similar question where exceeding the multicast limit resulted in traffic being dropped, but I can't recall if that's always the case.

I remember something about multicast flows, but I'm not entirely sure how the S-PMSI handles more than 32 flows.
