Click the exhibit button below. Given the scheduler-policy (below), how much bandwidth can the best-effort traffic receive (PIR and CIR) when the ingress rate of each queue is 10Mbps?
I vaguely recall that the best-effort traffic gets a portion of the total bandwidth, but I can't remember the exact numbers. I might need to guess between A and C.
I feel like the CIR is usually a fixed value, but the PIR can vary based on the total ingress. I’m leaning towards option D, but I’m not entirely confident.
I think I practiced a similar question where the ingress rate was different, and it had a clear formula for calculating PIR and CIR. I hope I can recall that now.
Hey, did you guys see the latest meme about network administrators? Apparently, they can fix any problem by rebooting the router. Hilarious, right? Anyway, back to the question at hand...
This is easy, folks. The scheduler-policy clearly states the percentages, so the answer has to be D. Although, I do wonder if the exam writer has a twisted sense of humor and will mark E as the correct answer, just to keep us on our toes.
I think the answer is D. The scheduler-policy shows that the best-effort traffic has a PIR of 50% of the total bandwidth, which is 10Mbps. So the PIR should be 5Mbps, and the CIR is 25% of that, which is 1.25Mbps.
