Wait, are you sure? I thought it would send the higher one.

Definitely 250, that's how BGP works!

I thought it was 500 at first, but I see the logic now.

It's 250, local preference doesn't get sent to eBGP.

I’m confused about whether the higher local preference from the update gets sent out or not. Could it be 500?

This seems similar to a practice question we did where the local preference was overridden. I want to say it stays at 250.

I remember something about how eBGP peers don't use local preference, but I'm not entirely sure what value gets sent.

I think the local preference is only relevant within the AS, so it should send out the original value of 250 to eBGP peers.

I'm not too confident on this one. The local preference on the 7750 SR is 250, but the BGP update has a higher local preference of 500. I'm not sure if the 7750 SR will just use its own configured local preference or the higher one from the update. I'll need to review the BGP rules again.

Okay, I think I got this. The local preference is the highest priority BGP attribute, so the 7750 SR will use the higher local preference of 500 from the BGP update and send that to its eBGP peers. B is the correct answer.

Hmm, I'm a bit confused. If the Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR is configured with a local preference of 250, and it receives a BGP update with a local preference of 500, which one takes precedence? I'll need to double-check the BGP decision process to be sure.

This one seems pretty straightforward. The local preference on the Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR is 250, but the BGP update has a local preference of 500. So the local preference sent to the eBGP peers should be 500.

I'm not sure, but I think it's D) None because the local preference is not sent to eBGP peers.

I agree with Jess, because the local preference is set to the highest value received.

Wait, so we're sending the higher local pref to our eBGP peers? That's like sharing the last cookie in the jar!

500? Woah, that's some serious local preference! Looks like the router's got a big ego.
