Storage Spaces sounds familiar, but I don't think it's meant for user quotas. It might be for managing disks instead?

Okay, let me think this through. The universal forwarder is responsible for forwarding data, so I'd expect inputs.conf and outputs.conf to be relevant. But I'm not sure about monitor.conf or forwarder.conf.

Okay, I think I've got this. The key is to enable the syslogd daemon to accept remote syslog messages. Options B and E both seem to do that by setting the LOG_FROM_REMOTE parameter.
