Your network contains an Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) forest. The forest contains three Active Directory sites named Site1, Site2, and Site3. Each site contains two domain controllers. The sites are connected by using DEFAULTIPSITELINK.

You open a new branch office that contains only client computers.

You need to ensure that the client computers in the new office are primarily authenticated by the domain controllers in Site1.

Solution: You create a new site named Site4 and associate Site4 to DEFAULTSITELINK.

I thought adding a site would help, but I guess not!

Nope, they still need to be in the same site for that.

Wait, so creating Site4 doesn't direct clients to Site1? That's surprising!

Just adding a new site won't change the authentication preference.

I feel like this solution doesn't really address the authentication priority. Just adding a new site might not change which DCs the clients use.

I remember a practice question where we had to configure site links, and I think the key was ensuring the new site was properly linked to the right domain controllers.

I think creating a new site might help, but I'm not sure if just associating it with DEFAULTSITELINK will direct authentication to Site1.

I’m a bit confused. I thought the clients would still authenticate to the nearest DC unless we set specific site preferences.

This looks like a tricky MPLS configuration question. I'll need to carefully analyze the diagrams and requirements to determine the best solution.

Wait, I'm not sure about that. Shouldn't we be using backticks or something to escape the numeric table name?
