Microsoft AZ-400 Exam - Topic 7 Question 52 Discussion

Actual exam question for Microsoft's AZ-400 exam
Question #: 52
Topic #: 7
[All AZ-400 Questions]

You need to recommend an integration strategy for the build process of a Java application. The solution must meet the following requirements:

* The builds must access an on-premises dependency management system.

* The build outputs must be stored as Server artifacts in Azure DevOps.

* The source code must be stored in a Git repository in Azure DevOps.

Solution: Configure the build pipeline to use a Microsoft-hosted agent pool running a Linux image. Include the Java Tool Installer task in the build pipeline.

Does this meet the goal?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A

To run your jobs, you'll need at least one agent. A Linux agent can build and deploy different kinds of apps, including Java and Android apps.

If your pipelines are in Azure Pipelines and a Microsoft-hosted agent meets your needs, you can skip setting up a private Linux agent.

The Azure Pipelines agent pool offers several virtual machine images to choose from, each including a broad range of tools and software. We support Ubuntu, Red Hat, and CentOS.

I think it could work, but I’m not sure about the Linux part.

Wait, why a Linux image? Isn’t Java better on Windows?

Sounds good, but does it really support on-prem dependencies?

The Java Tool Installer task sounds familiar, but I can't recall if it specifically supports on-premises dependencies. I feel like we might need a self-hosted agent instead.

I remember a practice question where we had to ensure the build outputs were stored correctly. I think this setup might work, but I’m a bit uncertain about the dependency management part.

I think using a Microsoft-hosted agent with a Linux image is a good choice for Java builds, but I'm not sure if it can access on-premises systems directly.

I practiced a similar scenario, and I believe the integration with Azure DevOps is solid, but I’m not confident about the Linux image accessing the on-premises system.

Okay, let's see here. XMLFILE, XLS, and FLATFILE - those sound like the three integration endpoints I'm familiar with in Maximo Manage. I'll go with those.

Okay, I think I've got this. Creating a custom list view and pinning it to the sidebar sounds like the most direct way to give agents quick access to the records they need. I'll select that option.
