B? MSIX package for Defender? I think that's a bit overkill for this scenario. A or C are probably the simpler solutions.

D looks interesting, but I'm not sure an automation task is the best approach here. I think A or C are more straightforward options.

I'd go with C. Run the onboarding script and then sysprep the image. That way, we don't have to worry about it during deployment.

I'm not sure, but I think option A makes the most sense. It's important to have all session hosts protected by Defender for Endpoint.

A seems like the way to go. Onboard Defender during image creation, so every new session host gets it out of the box.

User2: Agreed, that way every new session host will have it from the start.

I agree with Giovanna. Adding the onboarding script to Image1 ensures that all new session hosts are onboarded to Microsoft Defender for Endpoint right from the start.

I think the answer is A) Add a Defender for Endpoint onboarding script to Image1, and then run the script at first start.
