I feel pretty confident about this one. Based on the requirements, Azure SQL Managed Instance seems like the best fit. It supports the latest SQL Server version and the SQL Agent service, and it should require less administrative effort than managing a full VM. The only potential downside I can see is the cost, but if that's not a major concern, I think Managed Instance is the way to go.
Hmm, I'm a bit unsure about this one. I'll need to double-check the documentation to make sure I understand the correct way to access the previous step status. Maybe I'll try a few of the options and see which one works best.
