I practiced a question similar to this, and I think a read-only file shouldn't cause an issue. So, I’m leaning towards option E or D.

I'm not entirely sure, but I feel like ownership might play a role here. If I don't own the source file, maybe that's why ln fails?

I think the error could be related to the files being on different filesystems, like option E. I remember something about that in class.
