Linux Foundation LFCS Exam - Topic 5 Question 11 Discussion

On a regular users workstation the route command takes a long time before printing out the routing table. Which of the following errors does that indicate?
D) DNS resolution may not be working as route by default tries to resolve names of routers and destinations and may run into a timeout.
A) The local routing information may be corrupted and must be re-validated using a routing protocol.
B) One of the routers in the routing table is not available which causes the automatic router failure detection mechanism (ARF-D) to wait for a timeout.
C) There may accidentally be more than one default router in which case a default router election has to be done on the network in order to choose one router as the default.

I think it’s just a slow connection, nothing major.

Definitely a routing protocol problem.

Wait, can multiple default routers really cause that?

I disagree, it's probably a router timeout.

Sounds like a DNS issue to me.

I vaguely recall that if routing info is corrupted, it could cause delays too, so A might be worth considering as well.

I practiced a similar question where routing issues were linked to multiple default routers. C could be a possibility, but I'm not confident.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think B sounds plausible since it mentions a router timeout, which could cause delays.

I remember something about routing tables taking longer if there's a DNS issue, so D might be the right choice.

Hmm, I'm a bit unsure about this one. The wording is a bit tricky, and I want to make sure I understand the difference between mission-critical and non-critical systems before answering.

Statically assigning a VLAN ID sounds familiar, but I feel like that's more of a basic setup than an extension out of ACI.

Okay, I remember learning about this. View functions can only be accessed during calls, while pure functions can be accessed during both calls and transactions. I'm pretty confident in that distinction.

I remember a question like this in practice; I think corroborative evidence was more about supporting information from multiple sources.

This looks like a tricky one. I'll need to think carefully about the security implications of each option.
