Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: B

The context of use is described in user group profiles and personas (who are the users), as-is scenarios (how do users currently do tasks), task models (details about what the tasks are) and user journey maps (how users interact with the interactive system and the organisation providing it).

A user group profile is a generalised description of a collection of users with the same or similar personal characteristics and context of use related to the interactive system.

A persona is a description of a fictitious but realistic user and what he or she intends to do when using the interactive system.

An as-is scenario is a narrative text description of the procedure a specific user currently follows to complete one or more tasks,

A task model is a list of subtasks for each task which the user has to complete to reach their goals. Task models help the design team to design the right solution for each task. User journey maps provide an overview of the touchpoints where users interact with the interactive system and the organisation providing the interactive system. They help stakeholders and user experience professionals understand and optimise the user experience.

The main purpose of personas and as-is scenarios is to identify user needs and make it easier for designers, developers and other stakeholders to understand who the users are, what they do, what their obstacles are, and to facilitate discussions within the design team.

Totally agree, the marketing exec is a stakeholder, not a user.

Wait, a trainer isn’t a user? That’s surprising!

The accounts admin isn't a user, just a stakeholder.

I disagree, the call centre employee is a user too.

I feel like the call centre employee is definitely a user since they are using the website to make reservations.

I remember a practice question about identifying stakeholders, and I think the marketing executive could also be a stakeholder but not a user.

I'm not so sure about the accounts administrator; they might not be a direct user, but they do interact with the system through invoices.

I think the trainer and the designer might be the right answers since they don't actually use the website themselves.

I feel pretty confident about this one. The accounts administrator and the marketing executive seem like the two stakeholders who are not users.

I'm not sure about the designer - aren't they a user since they're working on the website? I'll have to double-check that one.

Okay, I think I've got it. The key is to identify the people who are involved with the website but don't actually use it themselves.

Hmm, I'm a bit confused about the difference between stakeholders and users. I'll need to think this through carefully.

This question seems straightforward, I just need to identify the stakeholders who are not users of the car rental website.

Ah, the age-old question of who's a stakeholder and who's a user. It's like the chicken and the egg - which came first, the website or the people who use it? I say we just throw the whole thing out and start over with a rental service that runs on carrier pigeons and tin cans.

This question is a real head-scratcher. I'm just glad I don't have to worry about defining stakeholders and users in my day-to-day job. I'd much rather just reserve a car and hit the open road!

The call centre employee and the customer are definitely users, but I'm not so sure about the trainer. I mean, they're teaching others how to use the website, but are they actually using it themselves?

Wait, so the marketing executive who's running a promotion on the website isn't considered a user? That seems a bit odd to me. I'd argue they're a stakeholder who uses the website for their own purposes.

I think the designer and the accounts administrator are the two stakeholders that are not users of the car rental website. The designer is responsible for the interface design, but doesn't actually use the website itself.

I see your point. The trainer and designer have a stake in the website's success, even though they may not directly use it like the call centre employee or the customer.

I agree with you, Minna. The trainer is involved in training staff on how to use the website, and the designer is responsible for the design.
