[All ISSMP Questions]

Sarah has created a site on which she publishes a copyrighted material. She is ignorant that she is infringing copyright. Is she guilty under copyright laws?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: B

Sarah is guilty under copyright laws because pleading ignorance of copyright infringement is not an excuse.

What is copyright?

A copyright is a form of intellectual property, which secures to its holder the exclusive right to produce copies of his or her works of original expression, such as a literary work, movie, musical work or sound recording, painting, photograph, computer program, or industrial design, for a defined, yet extendable, period of time. It does not cover ideas or facts. Copyright laws protect intellectual property from misuse by other individuals.

I’m not so sure, can’t ignorance be a defense?

I thought copyright infringement was strict liability, meaning it doesn't matter if she knew or not, so I would say yes.

I'm not entirely sure, but I feel like there was a practice question that mentioned "fair use" and how ignorance doesn't protect you.

I recall something about "willful ignorance" not being a defense, so I lean towards yes, she could be guilty.

I think she might be guilty even if she didn't know, but I can't remember the specifics about intent in copyright cases.

Hmm, this seems like a tricky one. I'll need to carefully consider the options and think through the possible causes.

I'm a bit confused on this one. I know Outlook has a lot of different settings, so I'll need to review the options methodically to find the right solution.

I'm a bit confused about enabling AP fallback. Is it necessary if the WLC is already treating the secondary controller properly?

I'm a bit confused on this one. I know there are a few different files involved in the Windows boot process, but I'm not sure which two are the correct ones for a 2008 R2 server. I'll have to review my notes.

I'm pretty confident that the benefit of using PRINCE2 is a well-controlled project. That's the key advantage of a structured project management approach like PRINCE2.

This seems similar to a practice question we did on inventory management costs. I think we need to calculate the storage fees and possibly the setup costs separately.
