Which of the following areas of responsibility would be shared between the cloud customer and cloud provider within the Software as a Service (SaaS) category?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: C

With SaaS, the application is a shared responsibility between the cloud provider and cloud customer. Although the cloud provider is responsible for deploying, maintaining, and securing the application, the cloud customer does carry some responsibility for the configuration of users and options. Regardless of the cloud service category used, the physical environment is always the sole responsibility of the cloud provider. With all cloud service categories, the data and governance are always the sole responsibility of the cloud customer.

Physical security seems like it’s all on the provider, right? I can't recall any shared responsibilities there.

Application management might be more on the provider's side, but I feel like we still have some input as customers.

The key here is to focus on the SaaS model specifically. In SaaS, the provider is responsible for the physical infrastructure and the application, while the customer is responsible for the data and governance. So the shared area would be the data.

I've got this! In the SaaS model, the cloud provider is responsible for the physical infrastructure and the application itself, while the customer is responsible for the data and governance. So the shared area would be the data.

Hmm, I'm a bit unsure about this one. Is it the data or the governance that would be shared? I'll have to think through the different areas of responsibility in the SaaS model.

This question seems straightforward. I think the shared responsibility would be the data, since the customer is responsible for the data they store in the SaaS application, while the provider is responsible for securing the underlying infrastructure.
