B all the way! Threshold characteristics are the make-or-break features. Omit those and you might as well just toss the whole thing in the trash. Though I do like the idea of 'excitement characteristics' - maybe we could add a few of those for good measure, huh?

I'm going with C. Minimum characteristics are the bare essentials that must be there, or the whole thing falls apart. Anything less and it's like trying to build a house without a foundation.
