An administrator checks the IBM Fix Level Recommendation Tool (FLRT) for their system to see if they need to update IBM firmware or software.

The tool asks for their current system firmware level. How can the administrator confirm what it is?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A

When a customer calls with a complaint about slow workload performance, it is important to ask for additional details to help pinpoint the source of the issue. This could include details such as which application or process is running slowly, what errors are appearing, how long the issue has been occurring, etc. Having this information will help the administrator to determine the cause of the problem and determine the best course of action. I'm going to go with C, the 'lscfg' command. It's the only one that sounds like it's actually going to give me the firmware level, not just some vague information.

Option A sounds like it might be a typo - 'lsmcode'? Really? I'm sticking with C.

This is a tricky one, but I'm leaning towards D. Seems like the command that's specifically targeting the firmware.

I'm torn between B and C, but I think C might be the winner since it's a direct command to check the firmware level.

Hmm, option C looks the most straightforward. I'll go with that one.

I'm not sure, but I think running lsattr -El sys0 Igrep mcode could also work to confirm the firmware level.

I agree with Mee, running lsmcode is the best way to check the firmware level.

I think the administrator should run lsmcode to confirm the current system firmware level.
