An LTM Specialist has created a virtual server to load balance traffic to a pool of HTTPS servers. The servers use client certificates for user authentication. The virtual server has clientssl, serverssl, and http profiles enabled. Clients are unable to connect to the application through the virtual server. Clients are able to connect to the application servers directly.

Nah, I don't think that's the problem.

I think the clientssl profile needs to require a client certificate.

Wait, could it really be the 2048-bit key support?

Definitely sounds like an SSL offload issue!

The LTM device might not trust the CA of the client certificate.

I thought the 2048-bit key support was a common requirement, but I don’t recall it being a direct cause of connection issues in our studies.

This situation seems similar to a practice question we did about SSL offloading. I wonder if that's what's happening here with the application server not seeing the client certificate.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think if the LTM device doesn't trust the CA of the client certificate, it could definitely cause connection problems.

I remember something about client certificates and how they need to be required in the clientssl profile. Could that be the issue here?

Ah, I remember learning this in class. The order is Preserve, Analyze, Identify, and Present. I'm feeling good about this one.

Hmm, I'm a bit unsure about this one. I know Oracle VM has a lot of different settings and commands, so I'll need to think carefully about which one is the best approach for hard partitioning the CPU resources.
