A RecoverPoint administrator is planning to use RecoverPoint to protect their applications. The administrator needs to protect 8192 production volumes. The RecoverPoint

system has two physical RPA clusters using VNX arrays.

What is a possible Consistency Group configuration?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: D

When the ''Test a Copy'' wizard is in progress in a Dell RecoverPoint environment, it temporarily disconnects the local copy from the production and remote copies to allow testing of the data at a specific point in time without affecting the ongoing replication and production operations. The steps involved are:

Initiate Test a Copy: The administrator starts the ''Test a Copy'' wizard from the RecoverPoint management interface.

Disconnect Local Copy: The wizard disconnects the local copy from the production and remote copies to isolate it for testing.

Perform Testing: The administrator or users perform necessary tests on the local copy, which is now in an isolated state.

Reconnect Local Copy: Once testing is complete, the wizard will reconnect the local copy to resume normal replication and protection operations.

This process ensures that testing can be conducted on a consistent dataset without impacting the production environment or replication processes1.

Haha, this exam question is like a game of Tetris. Gotta fit all those volumes into the right configuration!

Hold up, why would we want 8192 Consistency Groups? That seems excessive. I'm leaning towards option A - 4096 replication sets should do the trick.

I'm thinking option C might be the way to go. Grouping the volumes into Consistency Groups seems like a more manageable approach.

Yeah, grouping them into Consistency Groups will definitely make it easier to manage and track the replication sets.

I agree, option C does seem like a more organized way to protect the volumes.

Wow, that's a lot of volumes to protect! I wonder if the RecoverPoint system can handle all that data.

But wouldn't having 8192 Consistency Groups provide better protection for all the production volumes?

I disagree, I believe the administrator could go with 4096 Consistency Groups instead.

I think the possible Consistency Group configuration could be 8192 Consistency Groups with 1 remote copy and 1 local copy.
