I definitely remember that KStream-KTable joins can be windowed, but I’m confused about the others.

I think KStream-KStream joins are usually windowed, but I'm not sure if that's the only one.

I've got this! The Kafka Streams joins that are always windowed are KStream-KStream and KTable-KTable. The other two options, KStream-GlobalKTable and KStream-KTable, are not always windowed.

Okay, let me think this through. I know that KStream-KStream joins are always windowed, and KTable-KTable joins are also always windowed. I'm not sure about the other two options, though.

Hmm, I'm a bit unsure about this one. I know Kafka Streams has different join types, but I can't quite remember which ones are always windowed.

This looks like a straightforward Kafka Streams question. I'll need to think through the different join types and which ones are always windowed.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to have to rewatch the Kafka Streams joins section of the course. These windowed joins are giving me a headache!

Wait, does that mean I can't just join my KStreams like I would with regular SQL? That's a bummer, man.

Hmm, I think the answer might be A) KStream-KStream join. Wasn't there something about how Kafka Streams handles the time-based semantics of these joins?

I'm leaning towards D) KStream-KTable join. I remember the lecture mentioning that this type of join is always windowed, but I'm not 100% sure.

Yes, that's correct. It's a windowed join because KTable is always considered as a changelog stream.

I'm pretty sure the answer is B) KTable-KTable join. Both KTables are always windowed, so the join has to be windowed as well.
