Ejecting the disk in the CD-ROM sounds like a possible solution, but I wonder if that’s really the first thing to try. I think I’ve seen questions like this before.

I recall that if the server is trying to boot from the network, it might be looking for a PXE server. So, checking the cable seems right, but I’m not 100% confident.

B. The answer is definitely WWPN. A vHBA is a virtual HBA, so the address pool used would be the worldwide port name (WWPN) range, not MAC or IP addresses.
