I don't know, that seems a bit risky to me. If the budget is already defined in the charter, I'd be hesitant to just accept an increased budget. That could set a dangerous precedent.

I'm not so sure about that. Wouldn't it be better to solicit product improvement ideas from the project team? They're the ones who know the work best, and they might have some great ideas for how to use the extra budget.
