The FTP data transfer could work, but it might be a bit clunky. Sending the TNS names file seems like the most straightforward way to get the BI app connected to the data.
Opening a new port just for the BI app seems like it could create some security risks. I'd want to explore the other options first before going that route.
I'm a little confused on the difference between building a separate data warehouse and just configuring the data mapping. Wouldn't the data warehouse be overkill for this scenario?
I think the best approach here is to create a new service account for the business intelligence application. That way we can ensure the proper permissions and access controls are in place.
