Yep, Linux is the clear winner here. I mean, have you seen the size of a Windows installation these days? It would be overkill for an embedded system. And macOS? Forget about it, that's way too fancy for an embedded device.

I agree with you, Linux does seem like the obvious choice here. Windows and macOS are generally more resource-intensive and not as well-suited for embedded applications. Chrome OS is a non-starter, it's designed for Chromebooks, not embedded systems.
