Where are the definitions of "Public Authority" and "Public Bodies" found?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A

The definitions of ''public authority'' and ''public body'' for the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 are found in the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Data Protection Act 2018 respectively. Section 7 of the Data Protection Act 2018 provides that a public authority or a public body is one that is listed in Schedule 1 to the Freedom of Information Act 2000, or is designated by an order under section 5 of that Act. However, a court or tribunal acting in its judicial capacity is not considered a public authority or a public body under the Data Protection Act 2018.Reference:

Wasn't there something about GDPR in relation to public authorities? I can't recall the exact details though.

This seems like a straightforward question about where the key definitions are found. I'm confident the answer is A, since the Freedom of Information Act and Data Protection Act are the main laws that cover these terms.

Hmm, I'm a bit confused on this one. I know the definitions are in some data protection legislation, but I can't remember if it's just the Data Protection Act 2018 or if the GDPR is also involved. I'll have to think this through carefully.

I'm a bit stumped on this one. I know the definitions are in data protection law, but I can't recall if it's just the Data Protection Act 2018 or if other laws like PECR are also involved. I'll have to review my notes before answering.

I'm a bit confused by the wording of this question. What exactly is the difference between the options? I want to make sure I understand the concepts before selecting an answer.

This seems like a pretty straightforward troubleshooting question. I'd start by verifying the JDE user is mapped to the BI Publisher user, and then check the security overrides for that user.
