Adobe Exam AD0-E208 Topic 7 Question 29 Discussion

Actual exam question for Adobe's AD0-E208 exam
Question #: 29
Topic #: 7
[All AD0-E208 Questions]

A spike in traffic is observed for a specific day. Knowing that there are no campaigns running, the first hypothesis is that this is bot traffic.

Which Adobe Analytics tool may be used to identify the IP of the user that contributes to this spike in traffic without using a custom variable?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: C

The statement that explains the possible behavior of the data is that this happens when a user comes to a site for the first time and makes a purchase without firing eVar1. If orders are viewed in the eVar1 report, there is no value to attribute this order to, so it will appear as ''NONE''. This means that eVar1 was not set on any page or hit during the visit where the order occurred, so there is no way to associate the order with any value of eVar1. The other statements are not correct explanations of why None, Unspecified, Other, or Unknown may appear in various reports.

You know, I heard the Adobe Analytics team was working on a new tool called 'Spike Detector 3000' that can identify bot traffic at the speed of light. But I guess Analysis Workspace will have to do for now.

Oh man, I was totally stumped on this one. But Analysis Workspace makes total sense. Glad I didn't go with Anomaly Detection, that would have been a real head-scratcher!

Data Warehouse could also help identify the IP of the user.

Analysis Workspace definitely seems like the way to go. It's a powerful tool that can give us the insights we need to understand this traffic spike.

Hmm, I think the answer here is Analysis Workspace. It can help identify the IP addresses contributing to the traffic spike without needing a custom variable.

Data Warehouse might not be the best choice in this scenario since it's more for storing and accessing large amounts of data.

That's true, Anomaly Detection could also be a good option to investigate the spike further.

But wouldn't Anomaly Detection also be useful in detecting unusual traffic patterns?

I'm not sure. Maybe Data Warehouse could also be useful in this situation.

I agree with Cortney. Anomaly Detection can help us pinpoint the source of the spike in traffic.

I think we should use Anomaly Detection to identify the IP of the user.
