A vSAN administrator is looking forward to managing hypervisor, server drivers, and firmware all in one cluster image using vLCM. The vSAN administrator edits the desired Image and selects the desired ESXi version and Vendor Addon but is unable to add any firmware.

Why is there no firmware available to add to the image?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: C

In order for firmware addons to be available, the administrator must first deploy the server vendor Hardware Support Manager (HSM) and import the appropriate server vendor bundle. This is explained in detail in the VMware documentation, specifically in the section titled 'Deploy the Hardware Support Manager' in the 'Using vSphere Lifecycle Manager' document.
